Carrie Kirkton is a Supervisor of Forensic Services in the Toxicology Section of the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Center. She has a BS in Chemistry and a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science. She has over 20 years (17 years with NYSP) total forensic toxicology experience in both antemortem and postmortem toxicology testing. Her primary focus is alcohol impaired driving.
Ms. Kirkton provides oversight for the blood alcohol program and the breath alcohol instrument calibration program for the New York State Police.
She is currently the President of IACT and serves on the IACT training and publication committees. She serves on the ABFT Board of Directors and its Examination Committee. Ms. Kirkton is a member of the Society of Forensic Toxicologists and a member of the National Safety Council’s Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment Division (ADID). She also serves as a technical assessor with ANAB and has assisted yearly with laboratory calibration assessments since 2018.
