Making the Call: Using Experience to Complement Training

Course Description:

‘Making the Call’ is a course designed to help Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) elevate their expertise and decision-making through enhanced reasoning skills. This course goes beyond the basics, focusing on the application of advanced reasoning techniques—such as abductive and decompositional reasoning—to complex drug influence evaluations. Participants will learn to assess cases that fall outside the typical DRE matrix by integrating foundational knowledge, practical experience, and the latest scientific research. The course also covers how to critically evaluate the credibility of sources, ensuring that decisions are informed by reliable and current information. This training is ideal for experienced DREs looking to refine their expertise and make more accurate, evidence-based decisions.
