Quality Control Programs in Forensic Toxicology Labs: ANSI/ASB Std. 054

Course Description:
This course provides an overview of ANSI/ASB Standard 054, the Standard for Quality Control Program in Forensic Toxicology Laboratories. The course covers key topics including the standard development process, calibration requirements, control requirements for various assays (non-targeted screens, targeted screens, qualitative and quantitative analyses), acceptability criteria, and additional considerations such as instrument performance, internal standard recovery, carryover, and dilutions. Learners will gain an understanding of how to implement a comprehensive quality control program in forensic toxicology laboratories that ensures reliable results and adherence to the standard. The course equips learners with knowledge to maintain high standards of quality control and generate accurate, defensible data by applying the concepts covered.
