Alcohol Essentials: Effects on Driving

Course Description:
This course continues our Alcohol Essentials Series, which provides comprehensive education on the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and chemical testing of ethanol.

This course explores the impact of alcohol on driving abilities. It covers the complexities of driving, including sensory, mental, and motor faculties required for safe operation of a vehicle. Key topics include the effects of alcohol on vision, hearing, and cognitive functions such as divided attention and executive function. Learners will gain an understanding of how alcohol impairs driving skills, the phases of driving, and the difference between automatic and controlled driving processes.
