Drug-Impaired Driving and Child Abuse Investigations

Course Description:
This course trains law enforcement officers to transform a basic drug-impaired driving investigation into a comprehensive felony-level child abuse case. Participants learn to assess the impact of parental substance abuse on children, capture and collect evidence of child endangerment, collaborate with allied agencies, and execute search warrants for evidence like hair follicle testing. The course also covers methods for conducting thorough roadside investigations, properly documenting observations, and engaging support services to ensure child safety.
