This course provides law enforcement officers with practical guidance on preparing for and delivering effective courtroom testimony in DUI cases. Emphasizing that testimony is an art rather than a science, it explores key strategies for case preparation, report writing, expert qualification, and collaboration with prosecutors. The course highlights critical elements like identifying defenses, using the SFST manual, maintaining a current CV, reviewing evidence, and understanding courtroom dynamics. Officers also learn techniques to improve their credibility, communication, and confidence on the stand.

Through scenario reflection, checklists, and actionable tips, participants are equipped to enhance the clarity, accuracy, and impact of their testimony in impaired driving cases.

Jennifer Knudsen has been Colorado’s Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor (TSRP) for the Colorado District Attorneys’ Council since 2014. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Denver. She then went to the University of Colorado School of Law where she earned a juris doctorate and certificate in taxation.
