David Zimmerman received his Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the California State University of Fresno. During his time at CSU Fresno Mr. Zimmerman completed research using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance studying the effect and possible reason for a non essential amino acid causing Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Parkinson’s Dementia Complex (ALS-PDC).
Mr. Zimmerman is currently the Assistant Laboratory Director and Toxicology Analysis Unit supervisor at the Kern Regional Crime Laboratory in Bakersfield CA. Prior to being the Assistant Laboratory director Mr. Zimmerman worked on the bench for the Toxicology Analysis Unit and Supervised the Toxicology Analysis Unit and Controlled Substance Unit. While working on the bench in the Toxicology Analysis Unit Mr. Zimmerman gained experience with completing casework related to alcohol analysis, toxicology drug analysis, breath alcohol instrument maintenance and calibration, estimating measurement uncertainty, and completed method development/validation for both alcohol and toxicology drug testing.
