Nelly Mikhaltsevich is currently a Forensic Scientist III at the Toxicology Section of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Crime Lab, CA. Nelly has worked at the VCSO Crime Lab since 2007. While her duties include anywhere from presumptive screening, confirmatory analysis, technical and administrative review of other analysts’ work, and training other employees, she tries to take any opportunity to be involved with method development, validation and troubleshooting. Nelly earned her dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Biochemistry, and a Master of Science in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from California State University Channel Islands.
Nelly is currently a member of the California Association of Toxicologists (CAT), Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT), and preparing to take the ABFT certification test. Nelly is also published in the Journal of Analytical Toxicology.
