Ari Briskman is a career law enforcement officer, having served in various capacities in northern Illinois for almost two decades. Early in his career, Ari became interested in traffic safety. Ari honed his skills by becoming one of the few law enforcement officers recognized as a Drug Recognition Expert, followed a few years later by becoming a Drug Recognition Expert– Instructor. In nearly a decade, Ari has provided training on identifying impairment from alcohol and other drugs to thousands of police officers throughout the country.

For the previous few years, Ari has been assigned to oversee his agency’s Marine Unit. Ari focused the unit’s efforts on addressing impaired and reckless boating. In furtherance of his commitment to removing impaired boaters from the waterways, Ari was selected by the National Association

of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) to be a Seated Standardized Field Sobriety Test instructor. Ari has provided this training to hundreds of law enforcement officers, both those serving in a maritime capacity and on the roadway, as an additional tool to identify impaired drivers and boat operators.

Ari has been recognized in numerous courts in Illinois as a subject matter expert in impairment caused by alcohol and other drugs. Additionally, Ari is a certified traffic crash reconstructionist. He has been heavily involved in the investigation and prosecution of many fatal and serious injury crashes, during which he has seen firsthand the devastation caused by impaired drivers. Ari’s efforts have been recognized by state and national traffic safety and impaired driving enforcement organizations.
